Experience an authentic and family-friendly dog sledding adventure with Jean Le Trappeur and his exceptional team of sled dogs. Located in L’Ascension, in the Upper Laurentians, just one hour north of Mont-Tremblant, this adventure takes place in a region renowned for its abundant snowfall and spectacular winter scenery.

During this two-hour excursion, immerse yourself in nature and discover the beauty of the Laurentians and their snow-covered landscapes. Along the way, you might also learn more about the traditional way of life of Québec’s trappers and legendary coureurs des bois.

Activity Overview

Upon arrival, meet your musher, who will accompany you to the kennel, the starting point of your adventure. A short walk of approximately 150 metres will bring you to the heart of the dog team. You will then be welcomed into a heated yurt, where the activity will be introduced, safety instructions reviewed, and a brief driving lesson provided. You will have the opportunity to drive your own sled during the excursion.

Each sled accommodates two participants: one person rides in the sled while the other drives. Roles may be switched halfway through the tour so that everyone can fully enjoy the experience. Guests who prefer not to drive may comfortably sit in the musher’s sled.

Set off on an two-hour journey through forests, mountains, and peat bogs. Trails range from beginner to intermediate levels and are selected according to weather conditions and participants’ abilities to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Be sure to capture these unforgettable moments during the excursion.

Upon your return, take time to meet the dogs, thank them, and enjoy a special moment with them while sipping a delicious cup of hot chocolate. Your musher will also be happy to answer your questions and share stories about the traditional way of life of Québec’s trappers and legendary coureurs des bois.
